This assignment asks you to consider a current or past coworker or teammate (if no job experience) who has low levels of either job performance, organizational commitment, or both. You will draw from concepts found in Chapters 2 and 3 primarily– but feel free to use any of the topics covered so far this semester to complete this essay assignment. You must explain why this coworker or teammate was so ineffective. Was it Skill? Personality? Combination of both? Describe what (if anything) was done to deal with his/her deficiencies. And explain what responsibility you have– versus his/her supervisor or coach– in addressing their issues and helping them through it. And finally, be sure to cover in your conclusion what the phrase: “It’s not what you know– it’s who you know”– means to you as it relates to the job market in general and specifically you landing a job you want upon graduation. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Essay is DUE by Midnight, October 20th. 2. Essay must be submitted in Word (.doc) form thru CONNECT ONLY! Do not email me the essay. 3. This is a 750 word essay (+ or – 50 words) 4.
